Business valuation calculator
SDE is what the business earns an owner who works in it — profit with the owner’s own pay, interest, depreciation and one-off costs added back. EBITDA leaves the owner’s pay in as a cost, because it assumes a manager does the job. Small businesses are usually priced on SDE and larger ones on EBITDA, and mixing them up is how a buyer overpays.

Arithmetic on the numbers you enter — not a valuation, not an appraisal and not financial advice. Real multiples vary enormously by industry, lease terms and how much the business depends on its owner. Have an accountant review the actual books before you rely on any of it.
